Guest guest
laurie and celia, ty for replying, I have learned to eat smaller more frequent meals and live on ensures and resource plus alot of the time cuz of the gastroparesis. Ive tried almost all the meds out there for the reflux and go in between aciphex and prevacid which seem to help the most but have stopped taking them as often cuz dr seems to think they are causing probs with some of my other meds. Luckily im getting an appt for next week for that test cuz i called my dr about my concern. But i am hoping he does more tests to figure out whats going on- he probably will if this test comes back abnormal which i know it will. I'll let yall know what happens, thanks again. take care, adrienne

Guest guest
just to clear things up, i am seeing a gastroenterologist about this, seemed people replying seemed to think i wasnt. been seeing this gi dr for quite awhile but not sure if hes helping me much anymore. he doesnt seem to understand the gastroparesis enough and seems to want to blame everything on my pyloric muscle problems (pylorus is the sphicter at the end of stomach, mine is totally dysfunctional it seems). Im thinking about finding a new GI dr if he doesnt start helping more. I see my new neuromuscular dr about recent tests tuesday and going to ask what drs he thinks i should see about my stomach/lung probs and my shoulder too. im hoping he will be helpful. thanks guys who replied, i really appreciate it. take care, adrienne
Guest guest
Adrienne, I'm really sorry to read that you are having problems of this nature. I also thing that you do need to see a physician who deals with gastrointestinal problems since you feel that you are refluxing into your lungs. This can be serious and can cause pneumonia so it shouldn't be left unchecked. Do you take anything for reflux? Tell me more about the shoulder problem. Which side and is it muscle weakness, pain or both? Alice

Guest guest
Adrienne I am sorry you are having more problems. Have you tried eating smaller more frequent meals? Digestion takes a lot of energy and it may be that your stomach isn't emptying as it should. Just some guesses. If you feel uncomfortable waiting until next month, then seeing someone else for a second opinion will at least give you some peace of mind. laurie From: moonchild62579@... I always have had reflux and breathing probs but this is new. I went to my GI dr about it today cuz it seems to be getting worse and worse. He wants to do a pH study where they stick a catheter down your esophogus for 24 hrs to test where the acids go. But he didnt listen to my lungs or anything during the exam, just felt my stomach and brest bone and ribs asking where was the most pain and thats it. I thought he sould do more, a chest xray maybe and he does endoscopies (upper GI) and barium swollows in the past. I thought hed do more and i dont have the pH study til dec 3rd. I just dont think hes being aggressive enough, should i see a different specialist for this or get a second opinion maybe? I dont have an internist right now or PCP cuz im kinda inbetween them (cant find one that understands enough about my probs). So i dont know who to see. Also my shoulder is getting worse and i think that it might actually be in cooralation with my breathing probs but im not sure. I dont have a pulmonologist right now, my cardiologist was dealing with my breathing probs mainly it seemed. Anyways, i just dont know what to do about this but i know something is getting worse and its very worrisome. Any suggestions? thanks. take care, adrienne Medical advice, information, opinions, data and statements contained herein are not necessarily those of the list moderators. I do think that you need to see a gastroenterologist about these problems. A pulmonologist would be helpful too, but I understand the 'being in between doctors". Please keep us updated.
