Positive Lives: Contemporary ballet at Alliance Française of Madras

The Alliance Française of Madras is glad to present you 'Positive

Lives- Say Yes to Life', by Sapphire Creations Dance Workshop, a

contemporary ballet on the stigma and discrimination caused by HIV/

AIDS, in association with SAATHII.

The show will take place on the 12th March at 7 pm, in the Auditorium

of the Alliance Française.

The Alliance Française of Madras had in the months of November and

December 2007 organised a series of events around World AIDS day, in

association with a number of NGOs in Chennai. In continuation with

this theme, the Alliance Française has organized the performance

'Positive Lives - Say Yes to Life', a contemporary ballet

conceptualized and choreographed by Sudarshan Chakarvorty.

Positive Lives is a dance-visual montage presentation that tells the

story of people living with HIV/AIDS. Through a unique marriage of

dance, music and photography, the montage seeks to eliminate stigma

and reduction against AIDS, which prevents them from living with

dignity and realizing their full potential.
