Guest guest
I have been on amiodarone fairly successfully since April, 2002, 200mg/day. I also take lipitor, atenolol and coumadin. I have continued to have afib roughly once per mo. but since being on amiodarone I convert on my own with either exercise or just going about my normal routine. I think getting it off my mind is an important part of my self conversion. In October, 2003 I had my annual blood test and my liver enzymes were slightly elevated. Two mo's later at my cardio appointment, he cut my dose to 100mg/day and a few days later had another blood test which came back normal. I am trying to stay on 100mg but am having more PACs. I am resuming my exercise program with hopes that I can continue on the 100mg dose. If it looks like I need to increase the dose I will propose to the Dr. that I alternate daily between 200mg and 100mg. If it stays in your system so long I figure the variable dose should average out pretty well. My new cardio is an EP and does ablations here in Cedar Rapids, Ia and would like to do one on me. If I decide to have one I will go to Cleveland and probably have Dr Schwiechert do it. More to follow, stay tuned. Guy
