You can order it on the internet. Just type " Primal Defense probiotic " in Google and pick one to order from. Here's a few from Amazon.com:

$55/180 - Health Food Emporium

$55/180 - The Vitamin Shoppe

$66/180 - Web Vitamins

$53/180 - Spring Valley Herbs

Arne

53 - UC 9/77 - PSC 4/00

Alive and (mostly) well in Minnesota

OK another thing to look into and try. Where would I buy Primal Defense and is that the name it is sold under. Is there a brand name as well?

Does this effect the PSC at all or just help the UC? Thanks for your help.

90 capsules are around $30-$35. It's only expected to help UC. BTW, note Ivor's paragraph on UC and worms from the conference:

"Q. Is there any research on non-medical treatments for IBD? You read things e.g. about the use of worms.

A. You take a worm called trichonella - and this has been used in the treatment of Crohn's. An amazing story; it was experimented on with mice and then transmitted to a human group of volunteers in the US. You consume a parasitic worm for 2 weeks. It lives in the colon for a fortnight and then dies. It sets up an immune reaction in the colon which appears to be beneficial - certainly for Crohn's. It hasn't been tried for UC yet. It's bizarre, I know, but they somehow persuaded some people to take live worms. Actually I had a picture of a live worm to show you but I took it out. I showed it to some medical students last week and they hated it - they were vomiting in the front row. It's sounds wackey but it clearly works. It's probably affecting the immune response. Crohn's does seem less common in areas of the world where there are lots of parasites. It may be that because we live in a clean environment different diseases break through to which we have developed no resistance. This may be why Crohn's is much more common in developed countries than it is in the Third World. So I think it's very interesting. Watch this space. It's all very experimental but quite exciting I suppose."

University of Iowa has a trial going on with pig whipworm (eeww!). http://ibd.patientcommunity.com/features/weinstock.cfm?link_id=2608

Thanks Arne. I went to two health stores this morning and both were out

of it because of a new book called " The Makers Diet " . I got the book to

read and I ordered the powder since my son has enough pills to take.

They told me that the powder is tasteless and that you can put it on

your food or in a drink. Have you tried the power? I ordered on sale

through Whole Foods for half price [$32] . It should be in at the end

of the month.
