Guest guest
After my last serious afib episode in August, I have started having more and more tiny flutters that make me short of breath. I usually try to stay calm so I don't go into afib but I am confused as to why I am getting all these flutters all of a sudden when I have only had 2 serious afib attacks in my life. My endocrinologist swears that even though I am leaning toward hyperthyroidism it has nothing to do with my afib (my numbers clearly show that I AM hyperthyroid) . I didn't start having afib until 6 months after I had my child and was diagnosed with having post partum induced hyperthyroidism. My cardiologist seems to think my thyroid levels are the reason but defers to the endocrinologist since he says thyroid problems is not his specialty. I don't know what to think? My card. prescribed me Toprol but I am scared to take it for fear that I will have to stay on it or get stronger meds eventually. My heart rate generally gets above 200 when I get an attack. Does anyone have any advice about flutters?
