Hi,

In July I had surgery to remove all hardware in my right ankle. I have chronic

pain and also my Dr said I have arthritis. I was taking Oxycontin (Oxycodone)

for the pain.

On Nov 13th I had Arthroscopic surgery on my left knee. The Dr clean inside the

knee. I've been having pain and still but not as bad as once the numbness wore

off. I've been taking Oxycodone for the pain when needed. The knee is hurting

if I lay on the left side and putting pressure on the knee.

I do put pillow underneath it so it wouldn't hurt. I will call the Dr tomorrow

(Mon) and make an appointment for follow up. Also I'm feeling popping in my left

knee.

Eventually I have to have total knee replacement. :( Not really looking

forward to this and more PT time as I'm going now for the right ankle. I don't

know what else to do to ease the pain. sometime it's worse and other times

it's not so bad.

loveyouhun

Christa,

Are you taking an anti-inflammatory medication? It really has helped me. Good

Luck and let us know how you are.

Christa,

You can get positional sponges that help with sleeping, I have to lie with a

pillow between my knees for the sciatica nerve pressure. If your insurance

covers a physical therapist assessment, they can get them paid for usually. This

article was for knee replacement surgery but had good ideas.

http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/topic.cfm?topic=a00357

I get pain on the inside of my rt knee and if I get it in the position it

doesn't hurt I build it up with pillows to stay in that position. I don't know

if that helps. There is also a mobility aids

catalog

oducts_Tools_Adaptive_Equipment.htm

The pillow I am talking about is in this catalog

http://www.aidsforarthritis.com/catalog/resting_relaxation.html but I am able to

do it with my bed pillows I have tons of.

I take an anti-inflammatory also and the pain management added that four months

ago and it seems to help.

I hope these helps as it arthritis really hurts along with the other pain issues

we have. Get Better and keep us posted how you progress. Bennie
