Guest guest
Hi Karin, I am glad you are feeling better. You have been on very low doses of estrogen. Some women here have been on 8 mg/day and others have been on the injectables and patches. The latter two have been touted as being more bioavailable then the pills. Meaning that the estrogen is in higher levels in your blood and doesn't get broken down to an unuseable form as quickly as the oral form. This is a very simple explanation. Some docs don't go for this...they say blood levels are blood levels and it doesn't matter how you get it into your system. But, the truth is that no one really knows because no one has ever studied it. So, I say go for it! Either get on a higher dose of estrogen pills or get the patches or the injectables. I hope this works for you. Sorry for your friend, this doesn't sound fun at all. Puts our problems into perspective doesn't it? Anyway, good luck and talk to you soon,
