My mother has had 2-3 MRIs that look like what you are describing. She has problems with memory and word finding (she is also 82) but is still the wonderful, caring person she has always been. I hope that can maintain her spirits and love for life and others. My mother's has not progressed much in the past two years, but I know everyone is different.

Hugs to both of you,

laurie

Subject: MRI results

had an MRI done last Thursday. The results did not look good,it showed

ceberal cortex atrophy. All her other MRI's have been done somewhere else so

they didn't have anything to compare too.Her ped here is contacting her

Louisville doc to get his opinion. As far as I've ever been told all other

MRI's have been normal.

>From what I have found this area controlls speech, voluntary

movement, reasoning skills and short term memory. All of these are things

that have gotten MUCH worse for her in the past year.Anybody know anything

about this???

I know in my head that this is something that did not happen the day she had

the test but it still scares me.

We need LOTS of prayers.
