At the end of the month my husband and I are taking a much needed

vacation. We will be spending a couple of days in NYC. We will be

staying at a hotel at about 200 W and 45th street. After this we will

be driving down to DC to spend a couple of days there. Along the way

we will be stopping at Hershey, PA. I know that there are a lot of

members of this group who live around these areas. We would love to

hear what your favorites/suggestions would be. Any ideas for

traveling in general would be great to hear too!

Thanks

Jonyce

Advice that was given to us was to get one of the coolers ( makes a

good one; there are others) that plug into the lighter socket in your car

- this lets you provide more of your own food than you might otherwise -

beats eating fast food for lunch!

My family of 5 (all CD/gluten intolerant) spent a week in SF last

summer. None of us were glutened! We went to diners for breakfast

and basically did eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit kinds of things.

Lunches were salads with chicken or bunless burgers just about

anywhere. Dinners were grilled meats (no sauces/gravies/etc,)

salads/veggies and potatoes. It sounds repetitious, but it wasn't.

Lots of variety in what we had and because we just stayed away from

fried foods (fries generally) we didn't have to do much checking on

anything. We had a great time and as far as food went, it was

relatively stress free.
