Guest guest
, Sorry to see that you've run into a string of Medicrats. Maybe I missed it, but from your e-mail I'm not sure whether your dad needs a liver because of PSC, or other disease. Has he been seen by a Hepatologist(gastroenterologist who specializes in the Liver) since the cholecystectomy? My case began almost in the same way as his, except that we already knew, going in, that something was wrong with the liver...but my surgeon said almost the exact same thing, and then I woke up with the news that I was critically ill. And yes, many PSC patients suffer for years with jaundice and pruritis (extreme itching). However, I'm suprised that other measures weren't taken in your dad's case to enhance the flow of bile into the small instestine. At any rate, he is lucky to have you to advocate for him. In answer to your question, I have unfortunately had considerable experience battling the Medicrats. I would be happy to give you advice on how to proceed, but it probably would be better if you email me privately. My email address is steverahn@... .
