Guest guest
I am on T3 only. Have been since March 2007. I have much less heart racing and palps then with Armour. I also got hungry on Armour. I lost 9 lbs with T3 and on the high fat diet that Broda recommends. -- Who Is On Just T-3 Meds ???? For those of you on just cytomel, can you describe your experience? I'm waiting for my meds before I switch from Thyroid-S to cytomel and I'm hoping that this is the missing link that I need. And I'm also hopeful that I can finally get rid of this weight gained since my thyroid issues began. I get the feeling that a small percentage of folks are on cytomel, but the more I read up on it, the more optimistic I am about the future. Crossing fingers........ Guest guest
>For those of you on just cytomel, can you describe your experience?< I am . Just started and I completed a month. I gained 3 lbs (AUGH!) BUT I also found I have low aldosterone. Was tested out this month , too. I'm started on floinef. I think my aldostrone was really keeping me from accomplishing anything! Aldosterone controls salts. Lets see if this helps with the water retention. Believe me, Im bummed. I thought for sure this was my magic cure for weight as well as all the other symptoms Im having. I know I need an increase in T3. I have to wait for my blood work before my doctor will perscribe me more. I can feel I need more and my temps need to come up just a bit. Good luck and keep us informed. Guest guest
I have been on T3 only protocol since June 2nd. I have only had minimal improvment in a few of my symptoms. I have not lost any of the 50 lbs that I gained last year when I became hypo & was taking armour. :-( Gale > > For those of you on just cytomel, can you describe your experience? > > I'm waiting for my meds before I switch from Thyroid-S to cytomel and > I'm hoping that this is the missing link that I need. Guest guest
Hi , I am on 200 mcg of T3. Congrats on your 9 lb weight loss! That is wonderful. Sadly, I have lived the low carb lifestyle for about 5 years now. Even last year when the lbs were piling on I continued to eat a low carb diet. I would not change it for anything, I love steak & salad, cheese, eggs & so on. It is just not working for me at this time. I am not giving up though. Something will click sooner or later. Guest guest
My diet is definitely high carbs. I do think I have candida, so cutting back on carbs is like withdrawing from heroin (not that i would really know what that is like). So, obviously I feel better eating carbs. I have been told I have insulin resistance and that I should try low carb. But based on my experience and failed attempts, never mind the fact that I don't even lose weight, I've haven't been eager to start it again. I've wanted to wait until my adrenals were in a better place. Now that I'll be switching to T3 meds only, I'm hopefully my body will be in a better place to tolerate a drastic diet change. I'm much more curious about this high-far philosophy. I've read many books, and recall reading a few that says a high fat diet is better than any other diet. SAMMIE > > > > I am on just T3 meds. Guest guest
Val, Although I do not know much about Diabetes I believe that he told me that his Dr told him to go on 150 ? Insulin morning & evening. He says that he has never been able to control his BGL. He told me that his Dr said that there is no point in trying to control it any longer because it would not help. Guest guest
Thanks Val. I am going to copy what you have said & get in touch with him. He does not even use a computer but his son does. I will find out what meds he is taking & find a new Dr for him. He lives out in the sticks, maybe I can find a Doc here in Dallas. I will keep you posted. Gale > > He is on mixed insulin.
