Guest guest
Great job Darlene! With the lightheaded thing, maybe you should go to phase 2 and lose the last couple pounds? I'm new, so maybe I'm wrong, but light headed doesn't sound good! Theresa __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Lightheaded is very normal! It's because you are detoxing from sugars and carbs and the bad things. Sugar really is a drug in my book and when you get rid of it from your system you go through a type of withdrawals. Being lightheaded and getting headaches is VERY common. Phase one is important for getting rid of cravings and resetting your blood chemistry. It goes away in a few days. Make sure to drink water, eat enough, get rest, and take pain killer if needed. Guest guest
What is weird about the light-headiness is that I was on Atkins for 3-4 days, on Induction with hardly a carb in my diet - and was into liposis big time from the test strips??? Also I was gaining weight at the rate of 1 lb per day on Atkins!!! Anyway, I find if I have a snack it really helps and because of the extra yoghurt I'm eating, I think I must call it Phase 1.5. Today for lunch I had about 3 oz of lean broiled streak, large salad with vinegar/oil dressing and a sliced hard boiled egg - but at about 3 pm I was light headed and icky feeling again and headachy and cross. As soon as I got home I had some nuts and yoghurt and immediately felt better. I guess I really need those snacks and didn't have anything at work to snack on. Gggg! Need to plan better. Thanks for all the advice. Darlene.
Guest guest
Be careful of the nuts. They are a huge diet buster and very addictive. They definately stop people from losing, maybe not right at first, but a little later. Carol RE: Woo Hoo! Guest guest
Thanks for the reminder Carol - that's why I was surprised I lost another pound because I did probably have 2 oz nuts. I've been down the "nutalcoholic" road, and am determined not to go there again. I find at this stage of being on SBD and Atkins on and off for over 2 years, I don't even look at starches and find that I get hungry sooner if I have cereal (whole grain only) or fruit. So I'm not having any bread or cereal products if I can avoid them, nor fruit. I may try some berries for my sweet treat soon, but only at night. I find the Light Ricotta Cheese works great for a snack - it's filing and stays with me. I never cared for Yoghurt, but now I love it, and that is when I usually have my portion of nuts, in my Yoghurt. It's interesting how one's tastes change after being on SBD for a while. Oh, I tried an Amy's Organic Enchilada frozen meal the other night. It's all organic beans, veggies and whole wheat tortilla, lo cal too. And, it was quite filling, however I realize it's probably not really allowed, so I have no more of them and will wait till I'm on Phase 3. Have a good one Darlene - Be careful of the nuts. They are a huge diet buster and very addictive. They definately stop people from losing, maybe not right at first, but a little later.
