Guest guest
Plain yogurt shouldn't have any sweetener in it. Sounds like the Yoplait Light is flavored, even if the flavor was vanilla. I've looked at some yogurts like that in the grocery store and they were sweetened too. I buy Dannon Fat Free Plain yogurt. The only ingredients are "cultured grade A nonfat milk and pectin." I put a little Splenda in it. e Sheehan wrote: Hey guys....I read on the list you needed to get Yogurt marked as Light or Lite. That's what I did, got Yoplait Light. Dumb me didn't look at the label though, just went by that. Just looked at the ingredient list, the 2nd ingredient is High Fructose Corn Syrup. BAD, huh?!?!?!??!!?!?! Is there supposed to be some Light ones without added sugar or HFCS? Kris
Guest guest
Yogurt is easy to make, and that way you can control the ingredients. Just heat a quart of skim milk to 115* and add 2T. plain yogurt(the more active cultures the better. I like Stonyfield or Dannon). Pour this into a wide-mouth thermos and let it incubate 8-12 hours. If you like thicker yogurt add 1/2 c. dry milk powder with the 2T yogurt. Save some to start the next batch with. -Sharon, NY
