Guest guest
I have lost ten lbs. since my first afib attack in May. I attribute this to not eating three hours in the a.m. and three hours in the p.m. because of taking sotalol. You have to take it an hour before or two hours after. Since my attacks have been caused by cold drinks, I don't eat ice cream or sherbet like I did every single night. I was a chocoholic and now I don't eat chocolate except for a candy bar with very little, like a Butternut and only 1/2 of a bar. Seems like not wanting to have an afib attack gives you a lot of will power! I don't even think about ice cream or chocolate anymore. Also, I think the meds kind of upset my stomach, so I'm not hungry all the time like I was. I drink nothing but room temp. water or hot water with lemon. I also mix 1/2 glass of Gatorade with 1/2 glass of water or caffeine free chamomile tea when I get really tired of water. Maybe the sotalol does not have the affect that other beta blockers do such as Toprol. One thing I do notice is hair loss which I never had before.
