It is just fantastic!!! I tried it tonight and loved it. I could eat just it! Also those cheese crackers saved day 5 of my induction diet!! BTW, I am on day 9 and am weighing at 176 which is where I started. I started an antibiotic though and suspect that it is the problem. I am not giving up though. I am quitting the antibiotic though because it is causing a yeast infection and I am not going to deal with that. I am fighting adult acne. It is not bad but it does hurt. It is related to my pms (sorry, fellas!!) but I have also been put on the pill which should help with both my acne and pms. I really have bad pms so I am hoping the pill helps. I may just have to accept losing weight slower. I am exercising though and am eating more fat so that should help. Teena

Also Antibotics will stall you. I have heard that PMS can be relieved from taking at least 1200 mgs of calcium. >> I have stopped the antibiotics so am trying to get rid of the infection now. What do you all think about the pill? Does it stall loss too?? I wonder about the calcium. I should get Atkin's other book with the info about nutrients and such to see what can be substituted for the estrogen that I am needing. I REALLY have bad PMS!! REALLY, REALLY bad. I would rather be fat than suffer from it any longer. Thanks, Tina! Teena
Guest guest
Hi , I'm glad you've found this list. It's a great source of knowledge and support. My daughter Meagan was diagnosed in April of '99, at the age of 4, and one of the things (a little silver lining) of the late diagnosis is that we already totally knew her as a spunky, unstoppable little kid who loves to ride bikes, listen to stories, torment her big sister, etc. In other words, she wasn't a different child than the day before we found out she had CF, and we already knew that she's got 100% excellent quality of life. She was sweat tested as a baby, and I was terrified because it was all such an unknown, and what I did read was so grim. When that sweat test came back negative, I told my newborn it was the best news she'd ever get in her life. When we found out she actually did have CF at the age of 4, it was rotten news, but I wasn't as frightened as I'd been when she was a newborn. I guess I'm saying that if you look ahead, it's going to get easier, and your son's going to bring you so much joy along the way. In the mean time, just learn all you can, and give yourself some time to get used to the fact that he has CF, and be sad about it when you need to be. bye, , mom of Meagan 5 (cf, asthma) and Kailin 8 (asthma)
