Guest guest
This has become a big weakness of mine. Ben & Jerry's has a Carb Karma ice cream which is made with Splenda and tastes great. Healthy Choice also has some ice creams, they are healthier, but not as tastier. Time to get more ice cream . . . Joe Ice Cream I know ice cream is a BIG no-no. Any one find any alternatives. There are a couple of brand names that are adding low carb, no sugar. Any opinions??? Thanks! a Reminder: The South Beach Diet is not low-carb. Nor is it low-fat. The South Beach Diet teaches you to rely on the right carbs and the right fats-the good ones-and enables you to live quite happily without the bad carbs and bad fats. Guest guest
Ice cream is not recommended for the beach, and if you have it, it is supposed to be no sugar added. We don't count carbs so the carb control stuff has more ingredients in it we are not allowed, and high fat content is one. If you have it, it's only like 1/4 of a cup (your 75 calories) and only as an occassional treat. It is best to make your own so you know what you are getting. Guest guest
I know. I get alittle frustrated when people say SB is low carb. It isn't. If you enter a typical day in fitday you'll see how many carbs you eat. It is just the right carbs. I'd avoid most of the foods labeled " low carb " . Guest guest
My son made Shake and Make Ice cream out of a kids cookbook last night and it was pretty good, considering it came from a kids cookbook. I was wondering if this would be SBD friendly? 2Tbsp sugar (splenda) 1 cup milk of half and half- he used what was left of the fat free half and half and used skim milk for the rest 1/2 teas vanilla I didn't think it would work because there was no fat in the half and half or skim milk but it turned out okay. Guest guest
Yes, it is SBD friendly. I also put in other extracts (I like banana) to give it different flavors. Guest guest
I used to have a long straight downhill driveway. I'd put the ingedients in a small coffee can, which I then put that in a large coffee can with ice.....watch it roll down the driveway! Steve > How do you finish it? Just put in a jar and shake? How long? When do you freeze? > Thanks! > S. >
