Guest guest
, I'm glad to hear that you went to Iowa and have gotten everything straightened out. Poor little Caleb! I'm sure he's feeling much better now, and you too! I understand what you were talking about in regards to the crease on the opposite side of the foot now. When 's casts came off, one foot looked perfect, the other, not so perfect. It had many more wrinkles of excess skin, was a lot more swollen up on the top and had a very slight indentation (or crease) on the outside edge. Although it was nothing we had to worry about, right from the start that was the foot that we have always watched the most. And of course the foot that makes wearing the DBB longer an absolute must. I can still see the indentation on that one foot if I really look for it but now most times forget that it was there. Until I read your post. It's such a good thing that you decided to go back to Iowa and I hope that everything from this point on will go smoothly. I'm also glad to hear that Caleb's flexation in each foot is fine, that's weight off your shoulders! Well, I have to go, the girls are really testing my patients tonight and I can't keep one thought in my head for a second with all this chattering behind me! Take Care, Holly Caleb back in Casts! >Well, >I said that after the week in the DBB I would be glad to have the >casts back and we do. Caleb is much happier. Guest guest
Holly, Thanks for letting me know that had a similar crease on one of her feet. I wasn't really concerned about it and at first I think Dr. Ponseti was going to see if the shoes corrected it, but with the sores he went ahead and casted him again. I think now when we go to the DBB in two weeks we will have better luck. Thanks so much for responding it really helps having others to share things with that understand! and Caleb 3-31-01 - In nosurgery4clubfoot@y..., " Holly " <dhtru@i...> wrote: > , > I'm glad to hear that you went to Iowa and have gotten everything > straightened out. Guest guest
, I am so behind in posts!! Is Caleb still in casts? I'm glad the trip to Iowa was well worth it. It sounds like a long trip, but just what you needed. I hope the reintroduction to the FAB is a good one. Guest guest
Joy, Thanks for the reply. Caleb is still in his EXTRA casts until this Friday! He is doing great and very happy! I think things will go better with the Brace this time because it will be right! Dr. Ponseti also said that the casts Caleb had here flattened out his heal and makes it more difficult to keep the shoes on. They were strecthing the heal of the shoes out on a bunnion strecher machine to create more of a " well " for his heal to keep pressure off. Wish us luck!
