Guest guest
Usually PSC doesn't affect UC. It sounds like you need to be more honest with your GI and get some further treatment for your gut. If you have more genernalised UC (more of your colon is involved) than enemas will not work. You need oral medication such as Asacol. As for donating a kidney to your fiancée, that's a nice idea for her but not so good for you. As has been noted many times in the past, a virgin abdomen makes your future liver tx much easier for the surgeons and for you. As for the itching, expect it to continue on and off is areas such as your axillae and behind your knees and at all other flexural points and anywhere else for that matter. You'll hear a number of possible treatments from other members of the group. Seeing and talking to a Hepatologist who knows about PSC may provide you with some of these treatment options. But first you need to get your UC under control. The protein loss from diarrhea will ruin your health faster than the PSC, at this point. I see from your email address that you're a fellow Canuck. Guest guest
Hi Aubrey Right now I'm on 12 asacol a day, so I get a pretty good dose of them already. I guess I just assumed from what I read that you get diarrhea from PSC, and as my bowel movements were different than I've ever seen before, I assumed that this was related to the PSC. If it's only the colitis (only, he says), I don't mind that, because eventually I know I can get that under control (hopefully without prednisone). I'm in beautiful BC, which is much more beautiful today now that it has stopped raining. Terry Terry C Usually PSC doesn't affect UC.
