Aero Chamber vs Nebuliser??

Hi all,

Please can someone offer some words of wisdom.

We have been nebulising (now 15mo) twice a day with Ventolin. She has

been really healthy and has never coughed during her treatments...Our doc

gave us a script for an aero chamber (sp??) and Combivent pump.

We tried this for the first time last night (2 puffs on the pump through

the aero chamber) and she coughed till she was blue in the face ( no mucus

or anything...it was almost as if she was choking) and we hadn't even

started the physio!

Has anyone ever had this? What are the pros and cons of the chamber vs the

nebuliser (apart from the time taken to do the treatment)...the only thing

I can think is that the Combivent was too strong for her...we normally mix

her Ventolin with some hypertonic saline in the nebuliser...anyway, when

she saw the chamber this morning, she had an absolute fit and refused to

allow us to put it anywhere near her face! Help!!!
