Congrats to both you and your husband on to lo-carb days! Oh, how much

water, every day? A question for the ages. I usually try for somewhere

between 96 oz and 128 oz. Most folks are under-hydrated, so just keep

drinking; your body will adjust, and soon you won't feel like you always have

to p**. You can have Atkins bars on induction, just be sure to count those

carbs.

What do you want to put on those chicken wings, darlin'? You can fry 'em --

coat those little buggers with beaten egg and blitzed pork rinds (I put the

pork rinds in the food processor, and blitz 'em till they beg for mercy). If

yoiu're going to fry the wings, make sure you break them first. There are

also lots of sauces in the cookbook on onelist. I have several friends who

just use hot sauce; of course, they eat hot sauce on almost everything...

Hope this helps some. Best wishes for your continued success.

It might. It probably does. But how much can you use?

,

I'm glad to hear things are better for Alison this time with the brace.

How are her shoes fitting right now? If her toes are not over the edge

of the shoes, then she hasn't completely outgrown them yet. You can

most definitely get the new ones now, but it most likely wouldn't hurt

for you wait until your appointment either. Personally, I have not

found it necessary to " work the leather " before Jakob wears the new

shoes. If you decide to get the shoes locally, maybe you could work the

leather from the time you get them until you come back to Iowa for your

appointment. Then you could bring them with you and have the people at

American Prosthetics put them on or you could do it yourself. Way back

in January, 2000, Lori Stime wrote a message about changing the shoes

herself (message 53 in the archives if you want to read it).

When Jakob was in the brace full time (in our case 23 hours a day), I

would mostly just enjoy his feet. My husband and I took an infant

massage class through one of the hospitals here, so we would massage

Jakob's feet most evenings and then give him a bath (to get most of the

oil off from the massage).

I hope this helps some.
