Guest guest
Yeah Treyton! You're a DOC Grad! Congratulations!!!! Cristi, I can't wait to see the B & A pics. He sounds so proud of himself - LOL! He will learn very quickly that he doesn't have it on anymore. na graduated at 8 1/2 months. She too liked to throw herself back and listen to the thud. She learned in a matter of days before any real damage was done that it was gone. Good luck. The tech announced that he was graduated, and my little man started clapping away I'm told. I couldn't be there, my husband had to take him in since I'm at work, but I couldn't be prouder :)I can't wait to take pictures to show results. I'm amazed at what 4 months has done for me, and I'm incredibly glad I decided to persue it no matter what the doctors were telling me. His head shape used to be awful, flat, bumpy and incredibly asymmetrical. It was starting to throw his facial features out of whack. Even so, I had a neurologist himself tell me my son was fine, and everyone has a 'weird head'. I decided to push as hard as I could for a band anyway, and I'm glad I did. He has a large bald spot, but his head is entirely rounded. Even when his hair is wet in the tub (whereas I used to cry while bathing him because wetting his hair showed off the imperfections to a T) his little round head is just beautiful. The next few weeks are going to be hard. My son had grown quite accustomed to ignoring our pleas for him to stop, and head banging everything he could. Instead of sitting down from standing, he'd fling himself backwards and his little helmet would make a thud on the carpet which would make him giggle. He'd take toys and start thumping them on the helmet just to hear the noise. No matter what we did to try and stop him, he loved that helmet because it made noise and protected his little noggin, and now that he's out of it.. well I'm fearing the worst and picturing fractures and cuts galore ;)I'm really happy though. I miss seeing my son without it. Naturally he was still adorable even with it on, but I miss being able to put little hats on him, hooded sweaters, etc, without having to buy a large size to fit over the helmet ;)I just wanted to throw another thanks out there, to everyone here who was there for me when I was confused and didn't know what to do. And to anyone who's thinking about banding but not sure what to do? Just do it. If I had listened to the doctors instead of fighting against them for this - I'd still be crying over my poor babe's head. I've done everything I could do to make it better, and I'm incredibly happy with the results. It made the 4 months of inconvenience, hardships and questions SO worth it. I think dealing with the issue despite everyone being against me, was seriously the most important thing I've done yet as a mother. Thanks again everyone, I hope to get pictures up soon :)Cristi & *GRADUATED* Trey! For more plagio info
