Guest guest
Hi , That's something I am also considering. For a while I have been measuring my blood pressure and heart rate daily, to get a grip on what's happening. All I need to do is wrap a cuff around my arm and push a button, but of course I have to sit still while I am doing it. My cardio told me to repeat the process and then average my #'s to get an approximate number while in afib. I cut back from daily checking to once per week now since my numbers are fairly constant. I have this agreement with my docs, that as long as I stay on top of things, I can increase or decrease my meds as needed. Of course, I would also like to know how my heart reacts when trying some aerobics, how far I can go and where I should stop. Thanks for the information, I will look into it. / > Since diagnosed with AFib, I purchase and wear a heart monitor whenever I excercise... My EP suggested that I not exceed a 150 HB... I find that the Coreg does a good job of holding it to below 140, but if I push it my HB can go as high as 220.. Which I don't do anymore... The apparatus that I use is a " Polar - T31 " ... However, I don't think that it compensates for AFIB... I use it more as a guideline that absolute fact... Just in case u r interested I bought it at the local " Sports Authority " for somewheres in the $85.00 range. It comes with a sending unit that strap around your chest and a receiving unit that also acts as a wist watch. > > Good Luck....
