Guest guest
Alice A, I amy be pre-op but I do have experience with incisions. The pain that you are having is pretty normal. I had a c-sect back in 93 and even after a year the incision still had occasion to kind of like twinge. My scar runs from just above my belly button to about 6 " down. Since I am so short I carried very high and they had to cut me the old fashioned way. Lea
Guest guest
lea, Thanks, that’s good to know. It really doesn’t bother me so much, but it IS disconcerting. Dr. Thayer assured me that at 6 weeks, the incision is healed all the way through. I feels like there may be some more healing going on unside there. Guess I’ll hold off on the sit-ups for a while, and concentrate on other areas. - Alice A.

Guest guest
Hey Alice A! Just wanted to let you know that I am feeling a lot of the same twinges that you describe. I am about 2 weeks behind you and it sounds like we really are near the same points! I also am feeling great and have been walking and bike riding and yesterday for the first time I did one of the FIRM Basic videos. I think it is called sculpting with weights. I just skipped the tummy parts because I knew that if I did it I would just be sore and I felt like I have been sore in that area enough in the past couple of months! LOL Anyway....you are not alone with how you are feeling. My scar is looking really good and healed well on the outside too....but I still continue with some soreness and twinges at times. Hang in there I am sure as with everything else this will pass!!! By the way I dumped for the first time this week and all I can say is.....IT WAS NOT FUN!!! I think I had eaten a few blueberries to quickly....BUMMER! It will not happen again! THAT IS FOR SURE!!! lknglas11@... wrote: Hi all,I haven't seen Diane or Alice D. around lately. If you're out there, girls, my mom asked how you were both doing, and I'm wondering as well!On another note... I guess I don't have a hernia like I thought last week. The sharp pain has gone away, but every now and then I get a brief pain around my incision. It seems to move around. Also, while mu incision is healing beautifully (if you could call it that), I do still get some soreness on the surface. Is this normal? I makes me afraid to do sit-ups, but I want to start doing them along with other bending and weight-lifting exercises. I'm 11 weeks out, and I feel great generally. I just don't feel very strong. I'm walking as much as I can, but I still get winded going up stairs. Any thoughts would be appreciated.- Alice A.

If you're out there, girls, my mom asked how you were both doing, and I'm wondering as well! Hi All, Haven't written at all but read everything! I am doing fine, unofficially have lost 57 lbs., will have the official loss after my appointment with Dr. T on 7/26. We have a trailer in Maine so between going up there every weekend and being on vacation the 4th of July week, it's all I can do to read everything. BUT, reading all the messages is what keeps me grounded! My daughter and granddaughter are here from Colorado for another 3 weeks and they are also keeping me busy. Regarding clothes...my family keeps yelling at me to stop wearing the stuff that " just hangs " and to buy something that fits! I have no desire to go shopping at this point (nothing seems to fit right...the big stuff is too big and the smaller stuff seems too small), so I figure there has to be something in my closet I can wear. The good news is I have alot of clothes to bring to the next swap! Will try to stay in touch more...congradulations to all...Alice A. you are doing awesome (I can't wait to get under 200!), Lyssa, Kim, etc. you are all great, everyone, thanks for being here... Guest guest
Alice D I'm glad to hear you are out there, moving & having fun. That camping sounds wonderful! I'm hoping to get my dh & kids out to a state park this summer for some camping .. that will be a first in I don't know how many years ! Lol. Today I washed my truck .. again another first in years and yesterday I hit the beach (yes insert repetition here another first in years lol) and I even wore my swimsuit without my shorts on (ditto). Constantly amazed, daily feeling better about body image something I'm working on. I think a part of me is holding out high hopes for my plastic surgery consult .. later this month. I still don't know if I'll have all the funds to do it but my dh last night said if we put off building our garage this year I could have the plastics done and build the garage next year. LOL wonder if he'll be cursing that offering in the middle of brushing off his car in winter ha ha ha. Take care all - great to hear from you.
