Guest guest
My 3 thoughts. 1. have you had a scope? With this one, how does water taste? Any nausea or vomiting? 2. B12 doesn't go by the calendar. Goes by blood work, which is CHEAP. Guessing is not optional. Testing is the only choice. It took me 6 yrs to need it, some need it by 6 months. Only testing tells. 3. I'm suspicious of Soma. If it is classified as an NSAID, maybe. Check the pharmacy tomorrow. They should be able to tell y ou if it is classed that way or if it is a known stomach irritant. Unless YOU are specifically sensitive, in theory percocet is OK, and many of us take neurontin. I am Tracey from Northern Minn. I had surgery Nov 20 2001 and have lost 100 lbs so far. But i've run into acouple of little things. Not to little to me i guess. First of all i have to tell everyone that i have Genetic Spine Disease. Or something like that. The last 3 weeks i've been in and out of the hospital for this. It started in 1983 when i hurt my back in the nursing home where i worked and was waaaaay over weight then and the doctors blamed that. So finieally my doctor says how about a gastricbypass thinking this would help and i've wanted one for years i was all for it. So now i am loosing weight and am very happy with this. Now within the last few weeks i've been in the hospitals on all kinds of meds and i am going to list them for you to see if you think this is why i am having tummy problems now. One of them is CARISOPRODOL OR ELSE CALLED SOMA, also on NEURONTIN AND ALSO PERCOCET. My doctor belieaves the reason i am having troubles again is the weight shift. Anyone out there agree with this or is my doctor grasping at straws? My tummy has been really upset lately and acouple of weeks ago i could of eaten anything and everything, not that i did but i could of. Now lately i really have to be careful or i feel like crap. Also after my surgery i was going threw with what my doctor called fatigue. I wanted a b12 shot and she wouldn't give me one. She said if i needed one it wouldn't be needed until i was a year out. That surprised the heck out of me. Well then i started feeling a bit better. Now again within acouple of weeks i am now again tired and can fall asleep at the drop of a hat. Almost sounds like i am going backwards instead of forwards. Anyone have any ideas on any of this? Even with all these little problems i would have this surgery again in a heart beat. God bless WLS Tracey >From Northern Minn > > > To Subscribe to 's weekly FREE Newsletter send an email to GBCookbook-subscribe@... >
Guest guest
Dear Tracey, I haven't had my surgery yet but I wanted to encourage you and tell you that I'll be praying for your back, your upset tummy and a complete recovery. God bless you, dear. Love, Trace 351.2/ /145 Surgery date -- 9/5/02 Dr. Schechner Gal. 2:
Guest guest
Well I can tell you that weight shift certainly aggravates a bad back. I have 2 ruptured disc in my back, and the weight loss/ shift has been really felt. Some days are worse than others, the worst is when you hit a plateau. I don't loose lbs, but inches fall..... and weight shifts the most. But yes weight loss/shift does make back pain worse. Weight loss helps tons with knee pain..... Guest guest
Tracey - Being hospitalized for back problems is not a little problem. You have my sympathy and empathy. Yes, it is true that the weight shifting around in your body can cause back pain. I don't know if those meds could be the cause of your tummy troubles. But I do know that they could definitely be the cause of your fatigue as well as the pain causing your fatigue, too. Nothing wipes me out faster than pain. As far as the B12 goes, my surgeon said the same thing. He doesn't check blood levels until 1 year out because we supposedly store so much vitamins in our fat. I went to my PCP yesterday to have my blood levels checked. I think they filled like 8 of those little vials. The lab tech kept saying, " This is a lot of blood. " I said, I know, but it's necessary. Can you see your PCP to have things checked or is that the doc you're talking about? If so, try your surgeon. I will pray that you are feeling better soon. Guest guest
But I understand that your body can adjust to the new " configuration " after several months..... I hope that was right <G>. Guest guest
my son is still having lots of back problems from the wreck last December and now his knee is moving out of its socket the same way it did before when the meniscus was starting to deteriorate and he fell yesterday when it went out and he tried to call my cell so I could help him but I was in the hospital and bless his heart he had to crawl in the house and call for help . I am beginning to fear he will never be able to function like a normal 25 year old again. We will talk to the DR again on Monday and see if he can get in to see what is going on . Sorry so long .I hope your back is better soon and I hope my knees are too and now I have to get some rest Fibro is acting up TN RE: Problems > LOL, it will happen. Guest guest
Dear , My knees dont hurt routinely anymore... however, if my fibro is flaring.. and at present, is major flaring, then my knees and all other parts of my body hurt... I did go and do a lot of things today.. but I am hurting too.. I had pain in my knees climbing the steps in the caverns, and again when I had to ascend the three flights to my daughter/s condo.. Take care Hugs,

Guest guest
Oh , I tend to forget about sometimes, what with the other stuff happening right now. I am so sorry he is having more problems. I will keep him and you and Aunt Bonnie in my prayers. You hang in there. Stress always aggravates the fibro for me. I'm sure that's why yours is flaring, too. Sounds like your pool exercise is a great idea. I'll be signing up for a class at the Y that has water jogging starting in September. Take care. Guest guest
Dear , Bless you. When I think of you I am reminded of how Jesus replied when he was asked by one of the disciples which was the greatest commandment and he said, " That you love one another... " Bless you.
