I think most everyone considers their dog/cat or pet as part of the family. I know my wife and I refer to our dog as our son - at least until the real thing comes along :-). On a more serious note, my prayers to 's mother that she is comfortable and without pain and certainly my prayers are offered to his step-father while be battles cancer as well.
