We deserve universal healthcare Steve, The reason we can't have that is that no all people are paying for this coverage that is for those are living legally and paying taxes so it is not as cut as dried as that. I cannot go to Canada and receive their " free healthcare " and come back home, go back and live here without paying taxes. So it is easy to complain about it but to come up with solutions isn't so easy. We have too many people taking " advantage " of entitlements that were made for when they could no longer do for themselves but depend on the entitlements to avoid doing their part. I put my 26 years of military, worked my time, my husband did also, but if he dies, his retirement ends, so does mine. Everything is not free unfortunetely. You have to realize someone is paying for that " comprehensive coverage of Medicaid " and I was one of them but do not qualify for it but am glad for what I do have and am glad I can get my kid coverage who never received CHIP either so that is where my money went. You cannot tell Medicare you can work some or want to work and then get upset that you do not get Medicaid as Medicaid is supposedly for those who cannot do any or have any income.
