Guest guest
Your gall bladder sounds so much like mine! It wasn't scarred enough to be attached to anything. Funny, they think that if you don't have stones, then it doesn't hurt. How I wish that had been the case! I'm sure you'll feel MUCH better now that it is gone. I couldn't believe my improvement. I'll be hoping for no more BC problems for a long time for you! I have had acid reflux for a few years now, but it is far worse now (with belching up food even). So, I stay away from the spicy stuff. I can't speak for everyone in this group who has had their gall bladder removed, but my doc says it is a result of PSC. PSC can effect the gall bladder and/or pancreas and it has attacked both in me. c) An overnight stay was a blessing. I had a drain in my side that was removed the day after surgery, hours before I was released, not to mention I did not feel well enough to travel the day of. Hope this helps. Guest guest
a) Mine was removed in 2001 (see message 26089 for details) - only dietary restriction suggested was reduced fat (I had been doing that for many years already). I believe has answered this. It looks to me that the entire biliary tree can be affected as a result (some members have pancreatic duct involvement also). c) Pre-surgery was at 3:00 PM, home by 10:00 PM (with a 45 minute drive!). This was indeed a "lap choly" (laparoscopic cholecystectomy). I have a 3/4" hairline scar about 3 inches above my navel and 3 other 3/8" scars (also nearly invisible). My gallbladder was 3x normal size and also did not fill. I've had no PSC symptoms since it's removal.
