Guest guest
Hi! I lift weights four days a week, and try to walk at least three of those days. I don't think it increases your cravings; but i always end up my workouts hungry, so i know i'm using up calories, even though we don't count them. One thing i found about going to the gym like almost every day is that it keeps me in focus with my body....when i don't go it's too easy to put on a huge sweater and ignore it... but on another note; i went to school today (it's my only day that i'm there in the daytime when the " college age " kids are there....usually i go at night) and they had a table set up outside the student union manned by a group of women. They were promoting the fact that this is " love your body day " .....which sounds like a reasonable idea to me. Most of their literature and visual stuff is based around the fact that advertising and fashion have totally warped our sense of what women (and to a lesser extent, men) need to look like to be attractive. I agree with all that.....but somewhere in one of their impromptu speeches, the woman speaking said something to this effect: america spends 61 million dollars on cosmetics, deoderants, and soaps every year...and WHAT FOR?????? well now, maybe i'm just weird, but what's wrong with that? When I look good, ei: nice makeup, nice perfumy shower, etc,,,,i feel loads better, and strangely enough, that head makes me want to stay with my woe. I have no plans to ever be REALLY skinny....and i wonder how attractive that is in real life, but i think taking care of ourselves is vital to our mental wellbeing...whatever the scale says... just a thought... Celia I'm planning on walking at least 4 times a > week. Does anyone here exercise at least that much? I was wondering if > it increased any kind of cravings
