Guest guest
Hi; I'm Rick, 65 and disabled by progressive back pain. I'm new to the group. Gotta admit I'm super impressed with the members' knowledge base. Since I'm a group newbie, you should know I was a Certified Psychiatric RN. And it's ironic that I'm now on some of the meds I used to dole out. As far as my back pain is concerned I've done everything from surgery to being 'gumbied out' by high doses of narcs, with little pain relief. The meds, I'm on now, are a conglomeration of what I found actually works. My problem is activity. On the days I feel good, I'm able to go to the store, etc. Then for the next few days, it's sitting in the barker lounger watching " Law & Order " reruns. The meds keep me relatively in the tolerable pain state, but I have to limit my activity drastically, during this down time. It feels that only time will alleviate the situation. I just wanted to say " hi " to the group and I appreciate having a place to discuss chronic pain, and not fear it won't be covered by insurance.
