Guest guest
So many people are falling off the wagon, and worse yet.....staying off of the wagon. Let me encourage you to not give up just because you had to have a nice treat. There's always tomorrow, and you will be here a long time. Wouldn't it be nice to be nicer looking? And healthier? Repeatedly we have seen " losers " proclaim their blood pressures are down, their pulse rate is down, their cholesterol levels are much improved, even one diabetic was allowed to come off medication. I came off Zocor (a stain drug), don't need it. Sure I'll take a nibble now and then. I had a little wedding cake this weekend, but it didn't alter my meal plans for today....I'm back at it, and enjoying being a LOSER!!!!! Guest guest
Yup. Let me another to encourage... I've lost something or other. I don't know what, because I'm not using a scale. I don't care about that. My clothes are significantly larger now, they seem to have stretched...and I'm getting compliments. That's what I'm going for. The weekend was a BUST. I had my bachelor party (lots of beer, snacks, etc). I had a pseudo-tgiving meal (taters, pie, etc). Completely and totally non-SBD. I was a bad boy. But I enjoyed it, and now I'm eating a salad. No carbs for the next week (a little Phase 1 to clear out the system). And I'm fine with it -- I enjoyed a decadent weekend, now I'm behaving. You have to take the larger picture at all times. SBD has taught me to THINK about what I'm eating, regardless if I'm doing it right or not. From now on, every time I think about eating a food, I do a quick mental " carb analysis " .= Good? Bad? So-So? More times than not I've put it back down because of that. You're learning how to be intelligent about your food instead of just shoving it in. That, in and of itself, is immensely valuable. You control food, not the other way around. If you've fallen off, you feel like crap, right? You know you do. Get yer butt back on the wagon and let's go for a fun ride. You know you can, I know you can. -------------------------- Profound? Hrm... www.nathanpralle.com --------------------------
Guest guest
I agree with this. Though I am probably in no place to talk having only been on SBD for 10 days. I completely and thoroughly fell off the wagon last weekend. I had to work Saturday when I wanted to be doing something else and promptly treated myself to a bag of M & Ms and a Dr Pepper. A liter of Dr Pepper. I wish I could say I felt rotten, had a headache or something else. Nope, I felt good and proceeded to work feeling less grouchy. Now, by that time I had been doing SBD for 5 days and had lost six pounds. The next day I had lost only four pounds and stayed there for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. But, the next day, Sunday, I also got right back on the diet, have stayed there and am now down 7 pounds this morning (Weds). So if you fall off, don't beat yourself up over it. Just get back on the program and go on. We get beaten up with guilt enough in this world without doing it to ourselves because we ate something that sounded good at the moment. Guest guest
, I think this is what Phase 3 will be all about. Basically a sound nutritious diet, with an occasional treat (not a glutonous feast, mind you), followed by some discline and some exercise. You're almost at your goal girl. I have a feeling you'll do fine.
