Guest guest
http://www.osha-slc.gov/Preamble/AirCont_toc/AirCont_toc_by_sect.html Recently, I was talking to an occ/med friend who is about ready to retire. I stated that I thought it was a crying shame that so man people were getting ill from sick buildings and that, in my opinion, if it were made a felony to knowingly expose your employees to known health hazards, like toxic molds, or to keep the results of IEQ's a secret, then a lot of businesses would clean up their act. His response really amazed me. He said, " It is a crime. There is a " general duty " clause in 29CFR1910. Recently some electroplater bosses were sent to do hard time over the death from cyanide of a worker in their plant. " If it is a crime (and remember here we are not talking about the good guys who are out there busting their humps to do the right thing) then why aren't we seeing more litigation over this? Any ideas?
