Is sugar in the ingredient list or just on the daily values chartie: 3

grams of sugar? Because all yogurt has sugar in it because it is made

from milk and milk has sugar in it naturally (lactose is sugar). I buy

the Great Value brand from wal-mart they have the 4oz. containers of low

fat plain yogurt. Yoplait has a large 32oz. container of low fat plain

yogurt but I am not sure if it has added sugar. Look for no added sugar,

because yogurt cannot be sugar free.

Yogurt

When you guys talk about yogurt, do you mean plain yogurt?

I can't seem to find any " plain " yogurt, meaning sugar-free and

low

fat. Any brands out there I can try?

All the " plain " yogurts I see seem to have sugar, and they don't

say

sugar free anywhere.

Please help. (Liz)

All plain yogurt will have some sugars listed in the nutritional label

because it is made from milk, which has lactose, a sugar which occurs

naturally in milk.

I make my own yogurt. I am lactose intolerant, so I use my goat

milk, but store milk will also work.

Heat 1 qt. milk to 115*.

Add 2 T. yogurt(the kind with 3 or 4 different cultures in it).

Let it incubate in a warm place for 8-12 hours. Try and keep it

near 115* the whole time.

You can add 1/2c. dry milk powder if you prefer thicker yogurt. I

find the thinner yogurt makes better smoothies!

Save a little to start the next batch with.

What a neat idea! I don't think I'll go that far, but I commend you

for your initiative. :) Liz
