Guest guest
How long have you been on the plan and how much do you have to lose? Your weight can fluctuate up to 5 pounds in one day, so you may see a loss one day then none the next. I don't know how often you are weighing but you may want to cut it down. You should be getting 5 servings of veggies I day, and I do not think you are. What type of lettuce is in your salad? Also...I would cut down on the tea with splenda and stick to water and be sure you get in 64 ounces a day. Are you getting in any type of exercise? -Beth VERY Frustrated > I just recently started the South Beach program after watching people > all around me drop weight- my fiance's mother has lost 28 over the > summer, a neighbor 19 and a cousin 25. Guest guest
Thanks...I was actually thinking of starting to cut back on the green tea with splenda today and see if that helps- it might be too much splenda and thats what could be holding it up. For lettuce I use radichio, romaine and something else that escapes my mind right now- it comes as a " Mediterranean " mix. > How long have you been on the plan and how much do you have to lose? Guest guest
Donna, I, too, got discouraged when in week 2 when I wasn't losing any weight. I had followed the diet faithfully and wasn't eating anything I shouldn't have. I went back to the book and found several points where I needed to improve. I had skipped some meals and snacks that week because I couldn't take a break to get something to eat when I should have. The next week I made eating regularly a priority and every 2-3 hours I ate something. I did lose a couple pounds that week and was especially pleased that overall I felt better and had more energy because of eating regularly. So I learned my lesson there. I think it's important to combine veggies and protein for every meal and snack rather than eating just one or the other. I tried to eat dinner earlier, no later than 7 p.m., preferably by 6:30. I had been eating the ricotta dessert every night and I was saving it until later as a treat. I am a night person and like to stay up late and snack late but that's just something I have to get over. I think exercise is the biggest key factor to losing weight - when you plateau nothing helps break through it like exercise. Your body will want to plateau when you reach a weight you previously stayed at for awhile and it will take longer and more persistence to break through that point. Is the 155 point a weight you have been at awhile at some point in your life or one that you haven't been below in quite awhile? If so your body may not want to let you go below that but once you break through the weight loss should pick up. Somebody else said this recently, that if you eat too little your body will slow down and you won't burn as efficiently. You could try adding some veggies to your breakfast omelet, a midmorning snack of something like celery and cheese, and a cooked veggie to your dinner. Somebody else said they see a pattern of losing one week and then holding steady for a week or two. I'm thinking that may be my pattern too. Might be yours also. Hope this gives you a few ideas. I know it's hard when you have a disappointing week but try to stick with it for another week. I'll bet you see some results! Guest guest
Iceberg lettuce would have the least amount of nutritional value I am pretty sure. Be sure your salads have mostly dark green., leafy type lettuces. -Beth VERY Frustrated > > > > > > > I just recently started the South Beach program after watching > people > > > all around me drop weight- my fiance's mother has lost 28 over > the > > > summer, a neighbor 19 and a cousin 25.
