You might have had trouble finding anything because of the spelling. It is

spelled McArdles. It is also known as Phorphorylast Deficiency (MPD or PYGM).

From what I remember, the exercise intolerance and weakness are an issue

with McArdles, but not the other body system involvement that tends to go

along with mito. They thought McArdles at one point with me too. I still

mainly have muscle issues but also soft symptoms of other body systems and

have mito dx via muscle biopsy (fresh at CCF).

McArdles is a glycogen storage problem. Another name for it is myophosphorlase deficiency. It is usually a stable condition, not getting worse. It is primarily a muscle condition, even though it is metabolic. It doesn't have all the nerve problems as mito.

I was wondering if anybody could tell me about Mccardles (sp?) I can't seem to find anything about it on the UMDF web-page or even when I do a regular web search. I have heard of it and I think it causes muscle pain. Thanks so much!
