Guest guest Posted December 30, 2002 Report Share Posted December 30, 2002 , You might have had trouble finding anything because of the spelling. It is spelled McArdles. It is also known as Phorphorylast Deficiency (MPD or PYGM). From what I remember, the exercise intolerance and weakness are an issue with McArdles, but not the other body system involvement that tends to go along with mito. They thought McArdles at one point with me too. I still mainly have muscle issues but also soft symptoms of other body systems and have mito dx via muscle biopsy (fresh at CCF). Guest guest Posted December 30, 2002 Report Share Posted December 30, 2002 McArdles is a glycogen storage problem. Another name for it is myophosphorlase deficiency. It is usually a stable condition, not getting worse. It is primarily a muscle condition, even though it is metabolic. It doesn't have all the nerve problems as mito. laurie From: LILQT4U1984@...
