Guest guest
My consellor gave me a great exercise that is really helping. I imagine a time when I felt good.(radical). Well, doing this I realized that NA crapped on all my good memories pre-NA and even the ones IN NA. For example- " I had this boyfriend he was kind of a jerk but we had a lot of great times together " . NA says- " Impossible. If it was an unhealthy relationship then it was ALL Crap, and you must throw the entire thing othe garbage heap and never say anything good about it ever again. In fact, to do so would be life-threatening denial. " So just like that, 2 years of my life which were 60% great are erased. Gone. Scrapped. And so on. For all thirty- two of my years. All of them unhealthy, all of them diseased, all of them totally crap and wasted. And you wonder why I friggin feel depressed now, for frigs sakes! Aaargh! Those friggin b-stards. Well, I have reclaimed 4 nice memories from my life so far. It's amazing how much better I feel already. There are many more to reclaim. I think it is very important to remember that life is not black and white like NA makes it out to be. Sure, for a while you may need to remind yourself of bad times drinking. But now I think it is a grave mistake to throw it ALL out. (All the GOOD memories).I mean, that's your LIFE! At least you were friggin ALIVE then and living and not just psychoanalyzing yourself into a suicidal depression because you have no life, for frig's sakes! If something has to be perfectly " healthy " before it can count as positive life experience, it is very likely you never will have any EVER, and you can sit on your death bed at 80 (if you don't kill yourself sooner!) and say " My whole entire life was unhealthy and diseased and therefore wasted and worth nothing. I am a big ZERO. " The f-in a-holes. I am so friggin mad. What a crock of shit. No wonder I've been so friggin' depressed, for frigs sakes!Aaargh!!!!
