Guest guest
Rose is officially brace free! We went to see Dr. Ponseti Monday to make sure Rose's foot had shown no regression since removing the brace in September. Rose was in the brace a total of two years, and she doesn't turn three until January. Dr. Ponseti wanted to check her foot and make sure the brace wasn't removed too early. Well, the foot still looks very impressive!! Dr. Ponseti and another doctor seemed very happy with the appearance and movement. It was very refreshing to hear that her clubfoot was doing as well as I thought it was. When I was talking to my sister about how good Rose's foot was looking, she asked me if I was upset at 'wasting' a trip to Iowa City just to have Dr. P tell me that all was well. I definitely told her it was NOT a wasted trip. To hear that all is well is just too good to hear. The trip went surprising well with both Rose and Iris, and we had a very enjoyable visit with , and Jakob!! It was great to see you again, and family!! On a side note, Rose's clubfoot was barely a centimeter in difference from her right foot. Dr. Ponseti did remark that Rose's calf was significanly smaller. It was about 2 cm smaller. I believe this is due to Rose being casted 6 months prior to starting Dr. P's method. Dr. Ponseti also said Rose had loose joints ( how many is this now??). Her knees sort of flexed backward when he was checking her foot and that caught his attention. I had wondered because she has some funky thumbs. Well, this got to be lengthy!! Oh, yes, Suzanne and , we stayed at the Red Roof Inn and had an early morning wake up call!! It wasn't me who set of the fire alarm this time!!
