Guest guest
Hi Tara, I have had this exact situation a lot in the last year. I don't know what to do about it, but it has stopped me from walking, it is terrible. My doc, who works with the physical therapist gave me the stretches mentioned in the previous post, but I found that even stretching doesn't help. I have to stop moving, for a while at least, then the pain goes away. I asked the rehab doc if he had heard of Kearns-Sayre syndrome, and he said "what"!!?!?????! So there goes that. I even bought some streching tapes, but I can't do daily tasks (I used to love to exercise and stretch) I just stopped and took the tapes back. I will get some from the library to practice in the future, if I find I can do it and it helps, I will go back to buy them again, but in the mean time, I use pain killers, and do streching when I can. Did I confuse you enough yet?!!??!?!? Please let me know if you find a way to deal with the pain, I think though that the physical therapist is right. Unfortunately, by the time we find out what is going on, it not often enough. I hope this helps. God bless, hazelpone
Guest guest
Hi Tara, I've had the same pain for more than a year now and it has gotten worse by starting on the other foot early this past fall. My problem has also included sever swelling in both legs. and keep them up and lots of water pills still doesn't bring them down going to a Vascular specialist next week to see if he has any ideal my local doc, a kind and gentle man is just a frustrated as he feel he must be missing something. I begin to thing there is nothing to do but learn to coupe with it. Let you know if I find anything that works. I am on MS-coint in fairly high does three time a day to deal with it. Bless on you in your hunt for answer. tara wrote: > Hi all, > Of course this would happen on the holidays when my doctors are all > away. > The past couple of days I have been having problems with my foot. Guest guest
Tara I have this type of neuropathy pain, along with many other weird stuff. I get it all over my body. Last night it was the top of my left foot. I have found that the most rested I am, the less I get it. I have found that rubbing it can relieve it for a time. Since you are dealing with heat and not cold, I won't suggest heat. I can't use anything like a heating pad, but warm socks or a blanket sometimes helps. I wish I could offer you more, but know that I am thinking of you. I have had this for so many years that it has to get pretty severe, before I look for relief. Taking the Lamictal for my myoclonus has helped a great deal with the neuropathy pain, especially this type. The past couple of days I have been having problems with my foot. I am having intermittent periods when it feels as though someone is stabbing a red-hot knitting needle into the bottom of my foot. The pain is very localised, lasts for a couple of hours, disappears, then returns. Can happen when standing or not on my feet. Haven't found anything that helps relieve the pain yet. Any ideas? Guest guest
tara andrew had theis prob early last year. our neuro said it was because his nerves in his legs had wasted but the signal for pain travelled to the end (which happened to be his foot/toes). we used emu oil and rubbed them when they hurt and it did seem to help him a fair bit. don't know if this is what your pain is, or whether it would help or not. hope it's not toohot up there. claudette in tassie
