Can you suggest how to rotate her head to sleep on the other side when she screams or gets very upset - should we be persevering with this with short burst at a time?? Should I prop her up with something?? Any help would be great. > > Re: Gathering Information > > > The stretches are great. If her head is round than make sure that she is sleeping evenly on both sides. Rotate her head to make sure that she is sleeping on both sides. If she does have a flat side, than make sure that she is sleeping on the other side. It is great that you know about this so early. Make sure that she is not always on one side while sleeping and her head should grow evenly. > > > > > For more plagio info
Guest guest
Hi there Can I point you toward the excellent repositioning headquaters (in Files)- there are many many documents in there which will give you ideas and products to help with nighttime repo. There are sleep positioners that can be purchased and other people have foam/cushions attatched to the mattress or the back of the sleepsuit which also help. Just trying to reposition the head will be very difficult (depending on the age), so one of these devices will really help. The reason Alyssa may be crying is that her flat spot is lovely and comfortable, but it is essential she doesn't sleep on it otherwise the plagio will get worse. The neck stretching is absolutely key as it will allow her to reposition her neck and head more comfortably- it may take a week or two for her to feel better laying her head on the bulgy side. Guest guest
Thank you - I should say that my name is ! Alyssa is now 13 weeks or 3 months of age. I have forgotten my password and trying to log on again but is not letting me at this stage - will keep trying. I find it strange that when we do alot of tummy time (up to about 7 - 8 minutes a time now) - we find that Alyssa favours her head to the left whilst in this position (when lying she favours her rights side - this side being the flat side). Is this normal or is this what we should be expecting? Should I be turning her totally on her side for her naps/sleep or should it be a gradual build up?
