I have been on Rifampin for about a few months now and I take probiotics along with Vitamin D, E and Calcium Citrate. My other drugs include Asacol and Ursodiol. I take approximately 22 pills/day. Sometimes my stools are soft but I never really get liquid diarreah. I find the probiotics help bind my stools (keep them together). At least that's what I noticed after a while of taking them. When I was in the hospital with Sepsis, I was administered about 9 bags of IV antibiotics and that made me have liquid diarreah. Ciproflaxin doesn't really cause any problems for me but Metronidazole flushes me out. Anyway, hope this helps in some way...

P.S. Remember, you can get anti-biotic induced colitis and Rifampin is an anti-biotic so maybe it's possible...

I also took Rifampin prior tomy tx, but was only on it for about 2 months. You are right, it truly keptme sane and made a huge difference. I hope they can rule it out as a causeor that probiotics are the answer.Good luck.Darin
