This time when I have blood work...I'm not going to take the afternoon dose until after the blood draw. But i don't think I can go without taking my morning dose. It's been posted now to take the Armour 12 - 24 hours. before a blood draw...but sorry, I just can't do that. cindi
Guest guest
Hallo all, I wonder what is the best time for bloodwork of thyroid hormones? I used to get it done early in the morning before taking my meds or having breakfast. But I'm actually thinking that this must depict the lowest amount of thyroid hormones in the blood, since for the entire afternoon and night I have no meds. I take two doses a day. So, I figure it is probably better to draw blood right before the second dose which is for me 3.00 pm. My first dose I take at 7.30 pm. At the moment I take: 7.30 am: 2 grains Armour and .012.5 Levothyroxine 3.00 pm: 1 1/4 grain Armour and .012.5 Levothyroxine Early at night my thyroidhormone-count would be highest, I assume. If I get my bloodwork around 3 pm, I know at least what is my average amount of thyroid hormones -in my blood- during daytime. Is this logic thinking? What are your thoughts on this? Kim.
