Guest guest
Hi there Debbie. I can state that if it was me with those hypo symptoms, I would increase. You may end up being a 3 grain or more gal down the line! You may have mentioned this before---have you had your Ferritin tested? Guest guest
Hi Janie: Thanks for responding. No, I've never had the Ferritin tested, that I know of. It wasn't until I joined this group, with all the discussion about it, that I heard about it. Guess this is something I should get checked out though especially since I don't get a good source of iron from foods. I rarely eat any meat. Guest guest
I don't know enough to answer your question - but - I just wanted to comment - for years and years, if my blood sugar level drops, I get shakey hands - once I eat something, they usually calm down. Were you eating enough? I have to eat little bits - more often. Even just some crackers keep my hands from shaking. Plus - some meds and herbs will cause my hands to shake. Don't ask me which ones - I never remember until I take them again! I need to write them down - I vaguely recall reading someone's post that asked or talked about low blood sugar and the thyroid. Does anyone know of this connection? I've had low blood sugar practically all of my life. Does Vioxx upset your stomach? It is the ONLY anti-inflamatory that I can take that doesn't upset my stomach. It does a lot for me. I didn't think it was doing all that much, until my doctor wanted to try me on another one! within the first week, I was nauseous, and aching everywhere - and it wasn't the flu!! LOL Cris should I do another increase? A few weeks ago I upped to 2 grains of Armour per day, sublingually, splitting the dose. After taking this dosage for approximately two weeks, my thyroid gland is swollen again (very noticable) and I'm getting alot of hypo symptoms back. Guest guest
Hi Chris: Yea I get shaky like that if I don't eat and like you, just eating a cracker, or a little bit of something, will stop the jitters. I'm not eating very much anymore trying to lose some more weight but I do " graze " during the day instead of eating " meals. " I've lost 30 pounds since Nov. when I started on Armour. That's due to the increased energy and feeling so much better that I started walking alot, and still am, even though the energy level is diminishing again. I have a friend with diabetes and has a meter with her all the time. I'll have to ask her if she can check my sugar level some morning before I eat anything and see what's up. I cannot take Vioxx at all. My rheumie tried me on all the different anti-inflams and the worse one for me was Vioxx. I was switched from Celebrex to Vioxx and I did feel like I had the flu all the while I was taking it. I didn't even realize how bad I'd been feeling when I was taking the Celebrex until I stopped taking the prescription anti-inflams altogether. I'm really sensitive to barometer changes. My knees will tell me if there's rain within a 30 mile radius! The girls I work with will, no kidding, ask me if my knees hurt, alerting them to take their umbrella if they're leaving the building. Guest guest
LOL barometer changes are common for people like us! I have a friend who is much more sensitive than me, but we always compare notes! I feel better, in one sense, on no anti-inflamatories - but I can't move!! so, I need the vioxx. My hopes are to go off of it once I get going on the armour. that would be awesome!! My weight was climbing and climbing - I went on a diet and lost about 30-40- pounds. it was very difficult. now I'm climbing again - and I still sort of watch what I eat. I think it's one of the meds I started to take. Another drug I'd love to quit if the armour kicks in. Cris Re: should I do another increase?
