Evidently Hashi's patients have a problem with it generally. I think the main way to tell is monitoring your blood labs and getting a sense of it that way. Anybody else have any thoughts on this? Guest guest Posted June 4, 2004 Report Share Posted June 4, 2004 Isn't it usually that your T4 will be higher then the T3 because you're not converting the T4 into T3 which could be caused by an absorbtion problem? Guest guest Posted June 4, 2004 Report Share Posted June 4, 2004 Dear when you have a blood test for thyroid profile it should have free T3 and T4 also you should make sure they test for ferritin as well... my friend showed that she had high T4 but low T3 and low ferritin... the conclusion was that she was not converting T4 to T3 .. because of low iron... so the treatment is ferritin supplement in this case.
