Guest guest
Hi fee great to hear from you! I took 7-keto DHEA for a month (25mg)...boy did it give me energy!!!!!!However, I got horrible hair-loss...not sure if it was the DHEA..( & -Keto isn't supposed to have that effect) and have stopped it to see if my hair thickens up again. My energy levels have dropped a bit though since I stopped taking it. My doc isn't keen on it...not enough research on long term effects..and as my GP is now prescribing me Armour I am being a goody two shoes for a while and not taking anything " dubious " . As for T3...I do know that the British manufactured stuff has a reputation for being a bit dodgy...cytomel is supposed to be better.... I'm glad your Aunt is getting treatment. Off topic..DH has just prepared me a vegetable patch!!! Sowing seeds tomorrow...sun please shine! Guest guest
HI Fee, Glad you are back! I am sorry you are having such a hard time getting prego. Hun, I have been there and it is very frustrating. What adds more hurt to injury is not even wanting to do the deed. I still have no sex drive and haven't for many years. I was so excited when I thought that that would come back after starting thryoid meds. I guess that takes time, huh? You poor thing! I hope you get to that optimal level soon. I would like to see you post to us about a pregnancy. It will happen, I just know it .

I know that is high for a woman, but I was having severe muscle problems since getting some of my mercury fillings removed. The stirred up mercury caused my thyroid to crash. Anyway at first, before I figured out what was happening to me, my legs were so weak and painful, I could hardly move.. The extra DHEA, really gave me more strength immediately. Anyway, I have also been loosing hair like crazy lately. This is fairly new for me, especially to this extent. I was thinking it was the thyroid, but even since increasing my armour from 1-2 grains the hair is still falling out where it would be a reseeding hairline on a man. Now since your post, I am wondering about the DHEA. I don't remember if hair loss was mentioned as side effects. I thought growing hair, (like on your face) was a possible effect. Anyway, let me know if you can get the hair loss to stop. I will stop the DHEA If that is the reason I am having it. nne
Guest guest
Hi nne, I just lent my book Natural Hormone Balance by Uzzi Reiss to a friend but from what I recall, DHEA boosts testosterone & hence causes hair growth (in unwanted places) & I presume hair loss (in wanted places!!) In the author's experience he found women could only tolerate small doses of DHEA because of side-effects, of which he lists a whole load, and of which I can only remember hair growth & I think sweating. The reason I wanted to take it is to help libido (very hard to make babies when you don't feel in the moood to do 'the deed' (!! hehehe) Also, the book says it can boost fertility & women to take as much as they can tolerate to help in this area, hence my interest. I am still not sure about supplementing with DHEA, I work out with weights at the gym in an attempt to naturally increase testosterone but am not sure it's working! Just wanted to chip in with my thoughts. Fee xxxxxx
Guest guest
male pattern hair loss...temples...crown...is a side effect of DHEA I'm afraid...however the 7-keto isn't supposed to do that..but I wonder...my son's girlfriend has pointed out that her hair is thinner too..it's spring and we moult...so she says!!!!!!!! In that case...roll on winter........ ...but also..any metabolic change can affect hair loss...so I guess it's trial and error! Love...and long glossy locks wished to you.....Fluffy > hair is still falling out where it would be a reseeding hairline on a man. > Now since your post, I am wondering about the DHEA. Thanks Fluffy, I am cutting back to 25 mg. today! I had no problems with that amount. The 7 keto is so much more expensive, and I already spend more than believable on supplements. Mostly to help me feel better which is more than likely due to low thyroid!!!! nne
Guest guest
I LOVE the Natrol products because they come in capsule form, not those hard tablets. This is the general capsule I take---Hair, Skin, and Nails. I won't take the Women's one because it has things that block the thyroid hormone in it. Re: hello all... DHEA/synthetic t3/fertility i just ordered some from www.drugstore.com. I like the Natrol supplements and they had a DHEA at 25 mg.
