Guest guest
I believe in being informed and letting your family know. I am to donate my body to science and be cremated. My whole family knows that and even put it in my will even though it is an after the fact instrument. I too like Bennie am doing the same thing. I signed a contract with the hospital that is attached to the medical center where medical training is taking place and then after 1 year they will deliver my ashes to my children per their request. I also have a living will, as did my parents and they too had made all their own funeral arrangements years prior to their passing on. I cannot tell you what a tremendous help that was to me as I am an only child and my kids were still young, below preteen, when my last parent passed. At the time I was still married to the psychopath and was under tremendous stress due to the legal hassles he had, plus severe financial problems which have not gotten any better but I do not have the constant " legal " stuff, as we are not married. Sadly at this time we are sharing space, he lives downstairs and we live upstairs, so there is some residual stuff, but not as bad as it was. Anyway, I do not think I would have been able to handle the additional stress if I had to plan the entire funeral. Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies within us while we live.
