I signed a contract with the hospital that is attached to the medical center where medical training is taking place and then after 1 year they will deliver my ashes to my children per their request. I also have a living will, as did my parents and they too had made all their own funeral arrangements years prior to their passing on. I cannot tell you what a tremendous help that was to me as I am an only child and my kids were still young, below preteen, when my last parent passed. Peggy, Thanks for sharing, I am sorry you are dealing with the " psycopath " but am glad you are separated from this. I am the executor for my Father's will and there is stress with what my sisters want for his burial and that is the only thing left to discuss with him. My Mother was specific and it really helped as my Dad asked us to plan the funeral. He is 91 and says I am not old yet to talk about it. I am having trouble addressing it but will after the holidays so this is something I don' t want to be a burden for me and our family. The saying you shared hits home and really is what happens.
