Hi all, just wanted to celebrate. My Dr just called to say my scan was

negative. Soooo relieved. Mainly because at the 24 hour scan I was

looking at the computer screen and was sure I saw a hot spot on my lung.

This is my second year post TT and I did Thyrogen this year, for the

first time. I had absolutely no reaction from the two thryogen

injections and was afraid they were injecting water.... hmmmm

The scanning seemed a little disjointed. All appointments were at 7:30

AM. I had 3.89 mCi of RAI on Wednesday and Thursday they scanned me with

the GE scanner which is fairly open. As the camera move down my body I

was able to see the computer screen and could see a bright spot at the

top of one of my lungs. At least I was sure that was what it was and

was afraid I had a met. The tech said she couldn't tell me anything.

Grrrrr... Then today they used the Siemens big scanner which puts one

in the tunnel. That was absolutely terrible even though I kept telling

myself I could see daylight. I never saw any images on the screen.

When I went to my doctor for the blood draw (TG level) I asked him to

call for the results. It was really nice of him to call a couple times

because he called at 4 to say it wasn't read yet and then called after

5:30 to say my scan was neg. Guess I'll send him a thank you card.....

Congrats on your news! I'm a newcomer and just picked up the scan process from

you. I'm VERY claustrophobic and now I'm frightened of the scan! I needed so

much ativan for an MRI of my back that they almost had to cancel it. HELP!
