Hi ,

Welcome to the group. I am so glad you found it too! is still

so young, I am quite confident that if you aggressively reposition

him you may definitely avoid the helmet!!! The is a great repo

document in our FILES, Repostioning Headquarters section created by

Christie, one of our repo moderators.

I'm not familiar with tort but plenty others here are so they will be

able to help you.

You are no overreacting. You are an AWESOME mom who is attentive and

aware of her child's needs. GO ERIKA!!! Please keep us posted on

's progress. I found that taking my own dig pics from about the

same angles really helped. You should see improvement over the next

few weeks if you keep up with repo as much as possible.

There are plenty of great pics to view on our site. Take care,

Sue

I just wanted to add that my granddaughter was almost 6 weeks premature and only weighed 4 pounds 10 ounces and had both tort and plagio. She had intrauterine growth restriction and was not growing as she should because of that. We do not know why. I just don't think being large is a key. IMHO and Jennicah in Washington, brachy, tort, Hanger cranial band graduate!

Hi ,

Thanks for your response. Well, I have to admit that I still use

the swing and bouncy seat b/c has terrible reflux. He's on

Zantac 2x/day for that. The dr advised us to let him sleep sitting

up at his 2 week checkup. I imagine that's when the knot on his

head first started forming. Anyhow, I'm also a big fan of " Happiest

Baby on the Block " and I use the swing for his afternoon naps b/c

then he sleeps much better at night in his crib. Since the plagio

diagnosis, I've made some foam inserts for his head so that I could

still use the swing and bouncy seat when I need to. They're not all

that great looking, but they seem to do the trick.

Don't blame yourself for your son's flatness~ I really think that

this is another one of those awareness things. It's like you don't

know what you don't know. We rely so heavily on doctors and books to

give us the info. All we can do now is try our hardest to fix the

problem. I'll keep you posted on our progress.

Cheers!

You know, MacKenzie was 10 lbs., 3 ounces, two weeks early, lol. Her

tort was resolved becuase she was/is so nosey and HAD to look around

all the time, but I often wonder if that's the reason we have the

plagio, since she was smushed in there!
