Guest guest
Diane, I think it’s a little odd that they didn’t do blood work. Maybe you should ask Dr. Reines about this. Did they do an ultrasound on you? That’s how they discovered the fatty deposits in my liver. Dr Thayer was not concerned, and it didn’t hold up the surgery. If Dr, Reines said your liver was enlarged, I would think he would have told you if it was going to be a big problem. Maybe he can answer some of these questions for you. Good luck! - Alice a. Guest guest
hi all, been lurking and reading, and reading, and reading. cant miss a day or it takes hours to read. i had my pre-op testing today at NWH. it was almost too easy. i had to ask about having an EKG. i dont think they were going to do it until they checked my age. i wanted one done and am glad they did. no blood work done, which surprised me. said they will do it the day of surgery. what if my liver test is off, will they still do the surgery? in other posts they say heavy people have fatty livers, will that show up and does it change the drs. decision to do the surgery, or am i looking for something that isnt there. when i had my exam by Dr. Reines he said my liver was slightly enlarged. i am confused. shouldnt that be checked. i dont want anything to change my date which is a week from tomorrow - JUNE 27th. i am excited, nervous, anxious, confused, apprehensive, and just about everything else. i just want to change my life and feel good and healthy. to wake up in the morning and not have my back ache and my heel spur not hurt. to not worry about the circulation in my legs, and have no edemia in my ankles. these are some of my hopes for this surgery. just a few. i guess i am just rambling on maybe out of nervousness and maybe out of confusion. any answers welcome. love reading all the interesting posts. love ya all, diane pro-op - JUNE 27th
Guest guest
Hi Pam, I am having my surgery on Tues. June 27th at the Newton Wellsley Hospital. My Dr. is Dr. Reines. Where are you having yours done? Do i remember reading that you are having it at the Lahey, Burlington. Who is the Dr. I didnt know they did it there. I also read someone is being done at the Salem Hospital, which I didnt know that either. who is the dr. thats right next door to where i live. I live in Lynn. I didnt want to drive in Boston (very intimidating to me) so I went to what i thought was the next closest place (Newton Wellesley Hosp.) I like my Dr. very much. I think i an all set. have to go to the store tomorrow for the rest of what i need for after. I know everything will go great for you. I will be praying for you. Good Luck!! thanks for answering.
