Guest guest
> 1. Taking 3 250mg URSO a day have heard taking more may help > opinions? (the label says max 5 a day) Hi ; My son is taking 7 URSO-250 pills per day; 3 in the morning and 4 at night. His weight is 150 lb, so this corresponds to a weight of 68.207 kg (divide weight in lb by 2.205 to obtain weight in kg). So his total URSO dose is 1750 mg/68.207 kg per day = 25.725 mg/kg per day. This is a dose in between the " high-dose " ursodiol (20 mg/kg per day) used by: SA, Bansi DS, Hunt N, Von Bergmann K, Fleming KA, Chapman RW 2001 A preliminary trial of high-dose ursodeoxycholic acid in primary sclerosing cholangitis. Gastroenterology 121: 900-907. and the " high dose " ursodiol (25-30 mg/kg per day) used by: Harnois DM, Angulo P, nsen RA, Larusso NF, Lindor KD 2001 High- dose ursodeoxycholic acid as a therapy for patients with primary sclerosing cholangitis. Am. J. Gastroenterol. 96: 1558-1562. Both these papers suggest that there might be beneficial effects from " high-dose " ursodiol in PSC patients, but this is still under investigation in clinical trials, e.g.: http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct/show/NCT00059202?order=4 Hopefully someone else in the group could help you on your Advil/Tylenol and Carb/Protein questions?
